Winter swimming pool and urban park Slovenj Gradec
The project documentation prepared by IDZ, PGD, PZI and PID included the winter indoor swimming pool, the outdoor swimming pool and the urban park next to it. The content or program, which combines various sports activity options, is of social importance, so the urban planning aims to ensure that the network and built structure of the facilities stretch along the Mislinja River. The winter swimming pool is partially buried on all sides and raised on a pedestal, which on the one hand protects it from floods, and on the other hand preserves the idea of the old swimming pool, which was placed on an elevation in relation to the surrounding terrain. The upper volume of the pool is entirely glass, transparent and acts as a mirror of the surrounding landscape, thereby 'blending' with its green background. The winter swimming pool is functionally designed in two parts: a partially buried ground floor with all service and technical rooms, changing rooms and accompanying program, and an upper floor with the main lobby, children's and swimming pools and accompanying rooms, lined up next to the pools. A summer swimming pool is planned south of the winter pool, and a swimming pool and children's pool are arranged within these areas. The urban park layout includes a bicycle training area, a climbing wall with an artificial wall, an outdoor fitness center, and walking paths with benches, stands, and resting spots.
